Planning a Bosphorus trip: season by season
The cruise sails every evening of the year on the same route. What changes is the light, the temperature on the terrace and how far ahead you should book.
| Season | On the water | Advice |
|---|---|---|
| Spring (March – May) | Mild evenings, long twilight by May, the city's greenest shores. | Bring a light jacket for the terrace; booking a day ahead is enough. |
| Summer (June – August) | Sunset during boarding, warm nights, the busiest decks of the year. | Book early in the day for the same night, or a few days ahead for weekends; the salons are air-conditioned. |
| Autumn (September – November) | Clear air, still-warm September, first cool winds in November. | A jacket or shawl for the terrace; excellent month for photos. |
| Winter (December – February) | Full night cruise, sharpest lights, quietest boats. | Dinner and the show are indoors; go up to the terrace for short photo breaks. |
Month-by-month sunset times are on the sunset cruise page; a longer seasonal guide is in best time for a Bosphorus cruise.
