How to choose a dinner cruise in Istanbul: seven checks
Dozens of boats leave the Bosphorus piers every evening, and the listings look alike. These are the seven questions we would ask before booking any of them — with our own answers next to each.
| Check | Why it matters | Bosphorus Night |
|---|---|---|
| Is the operator licensed? | A licensed agency is accountable for the boat, the crew and your booking. | TÜRSAB licence A-17672 |
| Do you pay before or on board? | Prepayment locks you in even if plans change. | Pay on the boat — no deposit, no prepayment |
| What does "all-inclusive" cover? | Some prices exclude the meal or the show. | Dinner, the eight-act show and unlimited soft drinks are included; alcohol and hotel transfer are optional extras |
| Which pier, and how central is it? | Remote piers add taxi time and cost. | Kabataş Pier — on the tram and funicular lines, next to Taksim and Beşiktaş |
| How long is the cruise? | Short loops skip the northern palaces and fortresses. | Three hours: 21:00 to around 23:45, up to the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge and back |
| Can you cancel? | Rigid policies punish weather and late arrivals. | Free cancellation up to two hours before departure |
| Are the reviews real and recent? | Old or copied reviews tell you nothing about tonight. | 4.8★ on Google — read them on our profile before you book |
